After a series of events, culminating in a couple of deaths inside the Inn, one of the Inn's owner's, Seliah, placed a magical barrier around the Inn. This barrier does not cover the land, or the areas outside of the Inn, but only the building proper. From the moment you step onto the stairs leading up to the porch and to the door of the Inn, you cannot cast any magic with the intent to do harm, be it good or evil. Any spells cast for this reason will actually be cast, but they will be immediately nullified, and made void. A waste of one's magical energy. Do you really wish to waste magical energy in this manner?
At this time, the owners have altered the magical barrier that surrounds the building. It is now capable of being both dropped and raised when needed, by Seliah or Katamai, and later when she's older, Kilena. The specifics of this barrier are as follows: The barrier, when raised, will prevent any spells from working inside the building ONLY that will cause actual physical harm. Status spells, invisibility, healing, phasing, anything that does not cause actual, physical, harm, will work.
In addition to the barrier placed around the Inn, there are two diamond Golems, Takar and Karat, that sit a watchful vigil outside the Inn. There place is on either side of the bottom step up towards the porch of the Inn. They can be and are controlled by Katamai, Seliah, and Kilena when she is older. They will obey only those they were made to serve. ((OOC: Only Seliah and Serun can control these NPC's, please.))
