The ground floor of the SSM

SSM Bar     The first floor of the Inn holds most of what the establishment offers. It holds the kitchen, the bar/common room, the library, the office, access to the wyne cellar/basement if one happens to be staff, several storage closets, access to the stairs leading up to the second floor, access to the garden out back through the kitchen, a washroom and the office, which is kept locked securely at all times. The Inn's earnings beyond what may have been made during the day that has not yet been deposited elsewhere, are not kept on the grounds, or anywhere inside the building. Fair warning to thieves. You will find no gold here.

The porch up at the top of the stairs leads to the front door of the Inn. On the porch is a single bench, and on the other side of the front porch are two chairs. Both seating areas look right down on the two diamond Golems that Katamai Arashikage created to help protect the establishment. Upon opening the front door and stepping inside you will notice the bar counter and stairs to the second floor directly to your left. The counter runs the length of the front half of th wall, in between the door to the kitchen, and the stairwell that curves up to the second floor. Behind the bar are the shelves of drinks, and a cashbox to collect the days' earnings. This box is emptied once a day, at some point, and placed somewhere not on the Inn's grounds or in the building.

To your right is the common room of the downstairs, with the tables and chairs, and along the right wall is the hearth. There are two couches, a low-lying table and a high-backed padded chair set in a crescent moon shape around the hearth. The table sits on a rug that looks to be hand-woven and shaped also in the stead of a crescent moon. Directly across from you, as you stand in the the doorway of the Inn, is another door that leads to the library and office. To the right and left side of the library, tucked into the alcoves created by the walls of the library and building are a single table and window. The left side-alcove sits next to the washroom, and the right side alcove sits next to a storage closet that is also kept locked.

Elmore     Stepping into the library you notice rows of bookshelves, each filled with any number of books, all bearing the Clan Derak'tul marking on the front cover. The volumes and materials within this room all are personal belongings to Katamai and Seliah Arashikage, and are not to be removed from the Inn, though you may freely avail yourself of the knowledge held within them. Standing inside the library door, the bookshelves are to your right, and the office is located directly behind the last shelf, locked securely. Directly to your left is another, smaller, fireplace, with two small padded chairs and another low-lying table between them on the rug. This is also set up in a pattern reminiscent of a crescent moon. Behind the smaller hearth area are four tables much like the ones in the common room, with a candle mounted to the wall next to each. Two directly to your left along that wall which is shared by the common room, and two across from you, along the wall which looks out on the garden in the back through a single window.

Stepping back out of the library/quiet room, and into the common room, you may go through to the kitchen. In here are the counters, sink, cupboards, and any supplies which would be needed for fixing a meal. There are also two iceboxes. One of them has the hand-written note, in Seliah's intricate handwriting, "Rys Khrysal's Milk Supply ONLY." on the door. On top of the same icebox is a small supply of both milk and catnip. It would seem that the owners here take note of the special requirements that their more frequent patrons indulge in.

ServingIn the corner of the kitchen, between the two iceboxes and the counter where food preparation is done, is a small trap door, with a heavy lock on it. This leads to the wyne cellar/basement, but unless you happen to be Inn staff, you cannot access the storage down there. Turning to your right, across from the counter where food prep is performed, is a window looking out on the garden in the back. In front of that window is a small family-sized table, one chair of which holds a thick block of wood, carefully smoothed and sanded down by someone's experienced hands, and the name Kilena is carved meticulously into the side facing you. Apparently the family dinner table. To the left of the table is another door, which when you step through, you find yourself forced to take a sharp quick turn to the right and facing a second door here.

Open this door, and you find yourself on the small back porch. There is a single one-person bench to the right of the door, and stairs that lead down to the ground. This is the garden out back of the Inn. Close the door, go back through the kitchen, and take a seat inside the common room. The bar is almost always tended by someone, or self serve on the honour system.
