The wine cellar/basement of the SSM is accessed through the kitchen via a trap door, locked, in the floor. Only staff members of the Inn have the key to this room, however, and it is always kept locked securely so as to not allow free roaming access to the liquors, etc, stored down there.
In addition to holding the drink storage, this is also where the tunnels start, that lead from the Sunset Moon into the tunnels that enter and leave the Kingdom of Tessian. There are a number of entrances into the tunnels in various places scattered throughout the forest, mountains and lands around the Sunset Moon, and within the Kingdom of Tessian as well - but these are well hidden, or overgrown from years of misuse, no use, or secretive use. While generally the only folks who know about them are natives to the lands here, or citizens of Tessian, thieves, rogues, rangers and Morbians, if one has a sharp enough eye - or knows what to look for - they can be found ...
The tunnels branch off in about twenty different routes at the minimum. Be careful when travelling within these - you may get lost if you do not know precisely where you are going, and not all turns will take you to pleasant, or safe places .These are the tunnels through which the Vampires came during the massacre of the Cainites known as the "Revelation." The tunnels are also used for any number of things, from thieves on the run, to assigned spies who don't wish to be noticed, assassins, to simple ordinary every day folk who just wish a shortcut, you get the picture. They are far from completely safe, and many a man has met his death in these tunnels, never to see the light of day again, but they do get from one place to the other in far less than the full days' walk that it would take on land above ground.
