Out in the Vastness

out in the vastness of the deep
stars may crumble stars may creep
whence they come and whence they go
is not for you and me to know

here at home we're clearer far
more near what is, and how things are
yet we tremble at the stepping stones
and glory in our ignorance of thrones

Just-so Assuredly

Just-so assuredly
almost unendurably is
what is
issuing as sentience
impressions garnered like transient pollen
from ten thousand honeyed orifices
bearing our memory
turning inwards or away from self
transcending speech
words spun on wind's reach

that is how just-so
assuredly
amost endurably
comes to be
what it is -
what is

Hell is Damnation

Hell is damnation etermal
unrelenting torture, amen
and amen to pain's dispensation
as suffering, primeval and sooth
for hurt is injury's signal
thru sentience nature's affect
integrity body's domain
mortality fraught with finiteness
till death do us part, amen

what more hateful inglorious assignment
to Creator of Firmament
than contempt for susceptible creatures
whose calling they trespass upon?
lust indignant with righteous reason
propriety turned on its head

oh, the One marks the slogan and challenge
blood feud among the elect!

Is Man or Woman

Is man or woman a bellyful of instincts neatly geared
like the seven-sphered music box
the ancients taught the universe used to be
are we busily wielding wrenches for the robot god
which will never lie like us lifeless under the sod
or are we cursed by savage manners
mainly following banners
to show who's boss
spike us a saint to the cross
or tap a barrel to spice the variety
between oohs and ahs
pursuing with eyeballs glazed
to lust after lust after frustration after
god knows what
spot on the hand
or bland diet of worms
eaten between the coughing fits of sycophancy
we call life
as if health and strength were flinging caution to the winds
like a bird winging across the ocean
never to stop for fear of death
the frenzy of our motion

Mere meme-perplexity

i see what you meme
he sed
a meme isn't a mime
though it's similar
not inimical
but amicable
as if memory were mammary
seeking same teat
and every meme rehearses
tedious old rhyme:
memeplex in time-tether
all sucks together
