I

is the individual singular or plural
is one a whole lot
could infinity be one too many
when i sez "it's me" who am i
neither this nor that nor other-wise
somewhere between musical chairs
nowhere in particular
if you get the general idea
that is, categorized as less than universal
which leaves me and thee
on the outside looking in
logically -or is it theologically - deplorable

II

or what if God
being absolute
beyond comprehension
God could change Mind
assuming mind and comprehension
but what the Devil-
may-care
isn't in it
is it
for 'absolute' means
thoroughly cleansed
hands washed
bye-bye

"how are things in Khatmandu?"
"terrible!" i'm telling you
"who will bother, who will care?"
"only the Khatmanduis there!"

III

infinity is a long stretch
like a grin from ear to ear
you see the joke?
make believe!
might as well be near as far
quodlibet from thin air

if nothing is nothing
and something is something
how could out of something
come nothing
unless it be something
neither here nor there?
