Site Introduction and Menu

Glad you've joined us! Make yourself at home. Get yourself a cup of tea and your favourite munchies; sit down and relax. There's lots to see.

The links on the right will let you choose from a section of poetry of an earlier generation, stories written for my grandkids, stories and artwork by some of those grandkids, philosophy, poetry and fiction by several family members, as well as a variety of other items.

Some pages that have proved to be favourites on the web are A Chickadee Feeder you can make, a story by Erik (12 y.o.), Peter The Pickle and the Easter poem, Listen Up, Oso Bear!

More serious topics include poems on grief and loss, Couch Potato and In a Black Mood, theological and philosophical musings. These are variously listed on Lorna's, Laurie's and Susannah's poetry menus.
February, 2006: I have added several new pages: more poetry, including a couple of love poems, a Mexican legend, as well as some background information for my other Mexican story, Dressing for Don Pedro. And a somewhat sad horse story: Bear Bait.

January, 2007: I've added three more pages of Laurie's poety; bits and pieces, almost haikus. Here, here, and here.

Okay, that's enough introduction; dive in!

Thought for the day...

"'You are old, Father William,' the young man said,
'And your hair has become very white;
And yet you incessantly stand on your head--
Do you think, at your age, it is right?'"

From Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

One of my favourite parts of growing older is that I don't really care whether people think I'm odd, or not. I am. That's who I am. Why pretend otherwise?

So, here I am, with what pleases me, what makes me smile. And cry. And sometimes giggle.

And I think, at my age, or at any age, it is right.

P.S. (I can always think of more to say. Or so they say.) Feel free to copy the children's stories to read them to your own little ones. Just remember; if you pass them on, please include my name and the link. Thanks. :)
