How to Align the Front Wheel with the Rear Wheel

I was at the automatic car wash the other day and I was watching my truck move thru the different areas, noticing how the tires move along in the track.

Well light bulbs starting lighting up, so I went to Lowes.  I was going to buy 2x4's but they aren't straight so I  bought two 12 ft pieces of 3/4" galvanized pipe.

I got home and laid them down on the garage floor and moved them up against the tires and wasn't having much luck, until I used my wood clamps to clamp the pipes to the rear tire then with the front one between them not clamped down.  I adjusted the rear bolts, mine was out of alignment just a bit but it sure will get it right on the money with pipes.   Just make sure you have the same distance on either side of the front tire.

Now  my idea is probably not original, but I just discovered it and thought I would share it with everybody.
