Take-Apart Bike Stand

A couple of years ago we did some bike stand building.  Here is my version.  It is designed to be used with the Harbor Freight bike lift but my guess is the dimensions for other jacks should be similar.   Check your jack before you cut and adjust accordingly.  The overall dimensions are:

15” high

14” deep

18” inside clearance between the uprights

The materials I used were:

1-1/4” square tubing

2” flat stock for the feet, 3/16” thick

3/4” square tubing for the horizontal pieces

1/2” diameter solid rod for the pins

Two cut pieces of vinyl stair tread glued to the top pieces.

The 1/2” diameter rods stick out from the uprights 2-3/4”.  I drilled a 1/2” hole all the way through the 1-1/4” tubing and left them indented a thousandth or so and welded it level.  The rod will slide right into the 3/4” tubing and hold everything together without any pins.
