Removing the Stock Fuel Pump  By Grey

Heres another easy and cheap change for the better.  Get rid of the electric fuel pump,I've been running this pump for 2 years in all kinds of riding and have never had one problem.

Shut off the gas at the tank, unplug the wires at the rear of the tank, remove the tank, then remove the stock pump and all plumbing associated with it save the pieces.

I used a Mukuni vacuum pump model #DF-44-211-D, about $20 at any place that has snowmobiles or watercraft.   They also use this pump on ultra light aircraft so its very reliable.

Mount it on the backbone brace just above the carb run a vacuum line from the pump vacuum port to the vacuum port on your stock intake, the one the AIS used, keep the line shorter than 8 inches, the shorter the better.

Run a line from pump outlet to carb .  I then used the curved part of the stock piece of fuel line to make sure I had no kinks in it from the pump to my filter  to tank.  I used a generic steel filter.  You can reuse part of the stock fuel pump mount to remount your choke knob or come up with your own mount.  That's it !!   Put the tank back on and go for a ride knowing you don't have to listen to the electric or worry about it failing again.  Plus it really cleans up that side of the bike.

Respects,
