From the side covers & gas tank.
                                                              
Use a hair dryer to warm up the adhesive then use dental floss (I double it), then slide between the tank and emblem. You can remove without scratching the paint.

The glue residue can be removed with goo gone, or wax & glue remover bought at most auto supply stores.  Apply with soft rag and saturate the glue so it slides off easy with not much rubbing.

After you have it all clean then put a coat of wax on the paint.

Your done.
