Welcome fellow DelphiPlus member. If you are having trouble finding
your DelphiForums webspace, I hope this page will be of help to you.
You will be reading step by step instructions of how to use a web-based FTP interface to upload files to your webspace. If you don't understand the terms used here... don't worry, they aren't really important. What is important is getting you into the webspace you paid for. I hope this makes it easier for you. There are many ways to get to your webspace. You can download an FTP client like WS_FTP, then install it, then configure the settings. Too much work if you ask me! You can use FTP command line access... but if you knew how to do that I don't think you'd be here. So, what is left? At the end of these instructions you will find a link to my FTP page. It will open in a new window, so you will be able to follow the instructions while you attempt to use FTP to transfer your files. Be patient... and Good Luck!
1. Enter your DelphiForums Login Name where it says username (it's the one in parenthesis on your posts) 2. Enter your DelphiForums password (if you don't know it, you will have to get a new one from Delphi) 3. You will get a pop-up screen from DelphiForums containing plain black text on a white background, close that pop-up) 4. You are now looking at the WEB2FTP interface. On the left side, in the white box, is a listing of your webspace. If you see web/, click on it to select it. Once you have it selected, click on the "Change Directory" button. The window will now update and show you the actual space you have to be in. If you don't see web/ then continue to Number 5. Near the top of the screen you should see "Current Directory web/". 5. To upload files, on the right side of the screen you should see five Browse buttons. Click on one and find the file you want to put on your webspace. After selecting the file you want, you need to set the radio button for what type of file it is. If you are tranfering HTML, then you want to select ASCII. If you are transfering images you want to select Binary. Click the Upload button after that. 6. A small pop-up window will appear... telling you the status of the transfer. It will close by itself and then your screen will refresh. When it does, you should see that files name on the left side... in your webspace!
You've done it! That is all there is to it! OK, you ready for the FTP Link...
