Use the basic pattern for the body.

I used worsted weight for everything except the ears. I embroidered the spots, nose, mouth and did french knots for the eyes. Follow the picture.

I've done my Dalmatian in white/brown because we have a liver-spotted dal.

TAIL:Cast on 10 sts. (If you want a longer tail put more sts on, shorter tail fewer sts on)

Cast off

Embroider spot(s)

Sew to back of puppet before you have sewn puppet together.

EARS:
I used "Astra" [this is a sport weight yarn or DK--CA]

Cast on 2 sts.

Knit 1 row.

Increase to 8 sts., beginning each row

Knit 4 rows.

Knit to last 5 sts

Cast off

Embroider spots.

Sew cast off edge to puppet after puppet is sewn together.

Pictured above is a stockinette version of the Dalamation. I wanted to give you [knitters] the opportunity to decide which one you liked better. I personally love them both. Annie has really created some winners for us.
