Supplies: approximately 8” of 20 gauge wire, metal knitting needle with 3 mm diameter,

wire cutters, smooth chain nose pliers, round nose pliers and nylon jaw pliers.

Step 1: Wind wire around the knitting needle 8-10 times, leaving a ¼” tail at the beginning. Leave the wire on the needle.

Step 2: Allow a small space and wind wire an equal number of times for second coil. Trim tail at finish to ¼”.

Step 3: Remove wire from needle. Cut between the two coils, as close as possible to the final wrap

.

Step 4: Cut the second coil as close as possible to the first wrap.

Step 5: Put one coil back on needle. Using round nose pliers, form a small loop in the tail. Wrap the tail around the needle, and press the loop flat to the needle with the nylon jaw pliers. Remove coil from needle

Step 6: Repeat for second coil.

Step 7: At other end of coils, use the smooth chain nose pliers to pry up the top coil. Turn this loop so that it’s centered over the coil, and tuck the end into the coil opening. Repeat for the second coil.

And … you’re done!
