Rides & Events for the year: 31
2005/12/26 - After-Christmas Ride to Opelousas
We left Lafayette at 10:06 AM, riding I-49 north to LA 182, rode through Grand Coteau then took LA 93 to Arnaudville, LA 31 right onto LA 741, left onto US 190 in Port Barre. We then turned right onto La 743 (CURVES, LET THE FUN BEGUN) right on LA 103, straight on LA 359. then right onto LA 10 at Vidrin's Furniture.
We then rode LA 10 left on US 71, right on LA 361 crossed the tracks, LA 361 through Evergreen, left on LA 29, through Bunkie on LA 115, to LA 106. Left on LA 106 we rode to LA 3042. we turned left on LA 3042 and rode that into Ville Platte.
We had hope to have lunch at Logan's but they would not answer the phone, which was not a good sign. We then considered The Pig Stand, but they were closed as well.
Angie and her son were driving to Ville Platte to have lunch with us and spotted a Mexican Restaurant open on the far east side of Ville Platte, so we ate there.
After Lunch We rode US 167 South then right onto LA 103, right onto LA 104 (curves, let the fun begin), then left onto LA 29 to Eunice, LA 13 though Eunice right onto La 91 to Iota, LA 98 to Rayne on to Lafayette
Home at 4:45 PM A gorgeous day.

2005/09/30 - 2005/10/02 - Texas SCRC Reunion 2005
After weeks of chaos caused by those evil twins "Katrina" and "Rita" it was time for a ride.
The 1st Annual Texas SCRC Reunion was scheduled for September 30 thru October 02, and believe me when I tell you it was "right on time!" Making the trip was 13 bikes with members from the Acadiana Chapter, the Berwick Chapter and the Baton Rouge Chapter.
The "trip" was exactly that and was beyond "interesting" to say the least. Excellent adventure, excellent rally and excellent friendships - both old and new.

The trip over and back through the Rita disaster zone was an fun adventure, but thanks to our Road Captain Wilson, we had a great Saturday day-ride too! Check out the map to see where we went.

2005/08/21 - Friendly Ride to Berwick
This ride was planned for a member of the Berwick Chapter whose father had been extremely ill. The gentleman required numerous blood transfusions and many of those transfusions were from SCRC Members who donated blood specifically for this cause. Upon release from the hospital the Acadiana Chapter Members, accompanied by some Berwick Members rode to visit the gentleman, who was recuperating in a Nursing Home. This was supposed to be a "cheer up" ride for a fellow SCRC member and a "thumbs up" ride for that member's father. However, as it turned out we all came back with much "more" than we "gave"!

Acadiana Chapter Members toured a 1,000 bed prison in Evangeline Parish then ate lunch at Logan's in Ville Platte Absolutely BEAUTIFUL day with good folks - Life is GOOD :)

This was a nice little day-ride to Biloxi to see a little of the ocean and look for some good food. From Lafayette, we took the interstate to the East 10/12 split and dropped down onto Hwy 90 along the beach. After a short stop at the Mississippi welcome center for a break and some maps, we passed through Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian, Long Beach, and GulfPort. In GulfPort, we had lunch at the famous BlowFly Inn. From there, we rode on to Biloxi and across the bridge to Ocean Springs before turning around and heading back on the same route.

2005/05/11 - Dev's Bee Ride
Length: 320 miles
Bikes: 1

This may have been a small ride as far a the number of bikes goes, but to hear Devrick tell about it, it certainly was interesting! He posted on the forum...

"Well it's done. Me, myself & I went on our ride today. We were able to clock 320 miles on Freedom. Found some good roads with some twisties and some awsome scenery on the straigtaways. We started at 8:00 as promised and came back at 4:00. I would have ridden longer but I got stung by a bee on LA 415 and it is kind of hard to drive with poofy eyes. Besides the bee sting this was the best ride I have ever taken. We were able to relax and enjoy. I hope to take others on this ride one day. I covered roads we normaly take but I may have stumbled across some new ones. Any hoe, I just wanted to mention the fun others could have had today."

Thanks Dev! BTW, we're still waiting on a repeat of this ride!
